Mom's night out

Ron and I went to dinner without the kids. We had a great time together at Gz's Asian bistro. She is 1 week away from having baby Emma!! So excited to meet her:) It looks like she will be induced next Thursday, if she makes it.

sweet baby boy

Well Karson is not at all as big as we thought he was. He had a great check up with Dr. Brown. Kris and I really liked him and felt like he really took time to explain everything. We were worried about his "asthma", but Dr. Brown doesn't want to label him with that yet. He does have some wheezing that will be alleviated with the breathing treatments when it should happen to flair up again. But really he has been doing great. After the first week of treatments he really hasn't needed them anymore thank goodness.
Percentiles
34% weight
21% height
I was a little concerned about his height, but Dr. Brown assured us that he has a late growth spurt like his dad. Remember Kris saw Dr. Brown as a child:)
Karson is still doing great and is a wonderful baby. He goes to bed at around 7-7:30 gets up at around 5:30-6:30 has a bottle, and then goes back to sleep until about 8:00. I feel like a really lucky Mama, Kaiden got up at around 5:30 and we were up for the morning, yuck. Karson just loves to play, and recently he has really taken to Elmo. He has been playing this little game where he puts his head to the side to be cute. I'll try and get him doing it next time. He also has started making little sounds and waits for me to copy him it's really cute. He will be going to the splash pad tomorrow for the first time with my mommy's group can't wait to take pictures of that.

Birthday changes

Kaiden has already changed his mind about what kind of party he wants. I've decided not to ask him anymore especially since I ordered the invitations already:) Bugs it is!

Why do I love my sister so much?

We can spend hours on end crafting. We bought some canvases at Wal-Mart and made some paintings for the kids rooms. I'm not nearly as good as Ron, but we had a lot of fun. I'll get pictures of her's next time I'm over there.

New Adventure

I have been making cake for a while now, but my new adventure is cake bon bons. They are cake crumbles mixed with buttercream and dipped in chocolate. Sooooo Good. Visit my store:)

I am coming up with ideas for caramel apples too. I'll post after I make an example of the bride and groom caramel apple;)

Easter

We had a great time dying Easter Eggs. We made a little bit of a mess, but Kaiden had fun and was so excited about the Easter Bunny visiting him. He was anticipating a tarantula remote control. He had been talking about this toy for 3 months!!! And he was really excited when the easter bunny left it on the fireplace. Karson had no idea what was going on and I fulfilled my mommy dutties by buying him a little toy, and filling his basket with a choo choo train shirt and baby cookies:) Mommy will for sure eat the peanut butter cups. We are amazed every day with Kaiden and his vocabulary. He asked Daddy if he was "fearful" of the spider.
We had a great morning going to church with Mimi and Papa, Aunt Kari, Uncle Sean (the big guy according to Kaiden), Aunt Kimi, and cousin Cason. We ate at the Cotton Patch and got to go to Mimi and Papa's to get Kaiden's Easter Basket that the bunny left there.

Kaiden

Has been enjoying his days playing and occasionally seeing his cousin Zoe. We are just enjoying time as a family since he has a jam packed year next year in preschool. I kind of just want him to relax and be a kid before he begins Preschool and soccer next year. Wee have been doing a lot of reading in the evening and I am amazed at how well he can listen to a story. It wasn't long ago that I was saying to myself "why do I even do this". But they just start to become more interested. He has been retelling stories to Kris and I. Being a teacher I am just excited that he is only 3 and without pushing anything he enjoys reading that's all I can ask for at this point.
He will be going to Oak Forest Montessori school next year 3 days a week. His cousin Cason goes to the same school. I'll decide later if I think he needs more than that, but Kris and I really think that he has the rest of his life to be in school and he needs to have fun. We are planning a HUGE Wall-e birthday party at the end of May. At least that's what he says for now, he has changed it a few times.

Karson

Daily treatment

Karson loves mum mums
Fun with Dada
Using Zoe's lavender bumbo to give the treatment really helps.

Karson will be 9 months on the 11th of April. I can't tell you how sad I am to know that he will only be a baby for a little while longer. I feel like I've really enjoyed these past nine months much more than I did when Kaiden was a baby. I didn't know what I was doing, I was stressed at work and not to mention that he was a very colicky baby. God truly answered my prayers when I asked him to let my enjoy Karson. Not only do I have a great baby but at the same time I have a great 3 year old. Things haven't been nearly as hard as I thought they would be. Karson has been crawling everywhere for a while now and pulling up on everything. Things are very dangerous at the White house. He is also saying Dada, Mama and baba. When we took him to the doctor for bronchitis he weighted 19 lbs. Kaiden was 19 pounds at 12 months so Karson is a big boy. I'm anxious to see what percentile he's in. I found out yesterday that Karson's new pediatrician will be Dr. Brown he's a wonderful dr. in this area and Kris and the girls all went to him as a child. He isn't taking new patients, but since Kris was a former patient he will take they boys. His 9 month check up is scheduled for April the 20th.

Side View

I was so excited after taking a walk with the boys when I discovered that the woods surrounding our house are covered with blackberry bushes. They are just now blooming, so Kris is very excited about blackberry pie in our future

Kris and work

Kris has been extremely busy working from home. He has been doing some consulting work for a major home builder in Dallas. He is estimating materials for new floorplans. He sometimes has to wake up at 3 and 4 am just to finish up a plan. He converted the shed into an office and bought a window unit. He has a great little set up in the backyard. I'm very proud of him:)Kaiden was a little sad that he lost his clubhouse, but we promised him that he would get it back when Daddy was finished.

Baby Showers in Houston

While in Houston I got to make 2 baby shower cakes. One for my stepbrother Erick and his fiance Sharla, and another for a friend of mine Michelle. Nancy is incredible at decorating showers so everything turned out really nice.

Saw family in Houston

I hadn't seen my family in over a year so it was really nice to have everyone together at my mom's house. It was especially exciting to have all the babies together. Baby Presley and Karson are about 3 weeks apart. We meet the next day for a little shopping and headed to Mambos. It was great to see everyone, and a little sad knowing that we are even further away.

Sick

Both the boys came down with bronchitis. It was a rather difficult week dealing with 2 fussy boys at the same time but I still feel extremely blessed to be able to stay home withe them and nurse them back to health. It was always really difficult for me being at school knowing that Kaiden was sick even though Terri did a great job.
After taking the boys to the doctor we found out that Karson has mild asthma. He is on a breathing machine once a day and although it's tourture to give it to him he seems to be doing much better with his coughing in the morning. I am anxious to find out if this is something temporary or if he will have this forever. He has his 9 month check up soon so I will find out more then.

Houston

Birthday

I got to spend my birthday with my Mom and the boys we had a great day getting my hair done and of course going to eat at Mambos:) I really enjoyed my time with my Mom it's not often that we can just hang out together.
The next day Dad and Nancy made a special birthday dinner. It was sooo good and we had a really great time together. Nancy can make a mean lobster.

TRIP TO HOUSTON

Ron and I had the best time in Houston. We wanted to be able to spend some time with my mom and especially my dad since he will be going on assignment to Germany for 2 months. I can't believe that by the time he gets back Karson will be walking and Emma Reese will have been born. We miss him already.

Rodeo

Rodeo this year was a blast!! This is the 2nd year we've all gone together to take the kids to the stock show and carnival. The kids loved it! Things got a little hairy when Kaiden got in his little mood, but overall it was a really memorable day. Karson looooooved being strolled around and barely made a peep the whole time. Grandpa bought Kaiden his first cowboy belt and he was one proud cowboy.

Fishing

Grandpa can't see his grand kids without taking them fishing. The park that I grew up at Meyer Park has a great stocked pond with a beautiful trail leading to it. Karson really enjoyed the swings. Of course we didn't catch anything(I'm bad fishing luck.)

A lot to catch up on

Ron's Baby Shower

Ron is about a month away from having Emma Reese, she is due on the 9th of May and we are all very excited to meet her. I can't wait to see if she looks like Zoe or if she'll have the same outgoing personality. Ron is doing great and juggling school, pregnancy, and Zoe. I am so proud of her and I know everything will turn out fine.
Ron's school had a beautiful shower for her and I was so amazed how everything was so well put together. It was a ladybug theme and even the punch was red with black floating ice (genius!). I loved making my first baby rump cake and first diaper cake. (More pictures of the shower to come)
